In 1918, in a time of important political definitions, a part of the radical party together with outstanding people from the intellectual circle founded in Luján, the Museum Colonial e Histórico from the Buenos Aires province with the aim of encouraging the strength of the different identy proccesses. In order, to achieve this, they appealed to
the “hispanic-catolic tradition” notion and designed a cultural proyect which in time it´s going to be tahen by the different social areas of the city wehere groups of spanish
and italian immigrants predominated; the museum as “the national traditions temple”.
