Abstract

This article presents a series of reflections on the integrality of university functions and student participation, considering certain issues that arise particularly at the University of the Republic (UdelaR). Within this framework, its main purpose is to provide contributions for revisiting the perspective on the integrality of functions within university communities, the concept of extension itself, as well as the notion of student training. It should also be noted that this writing combines critical views and perspectives that have emerged from presentations, exchanges, and dialogues held at the "Winter School of University Extension. Integrality of University Functions: Approaches, Policies, and Practices" organized by the Association of Universities of the Montevideo Group (AUGM) in 2023 at the National University of the Littoral, Santa Fe (UNL), Argentina. Finally, it is essential to emphasize that it methodologically relies on the analysis of official public documents from the aforementioned university, as well as quantitative data that emerge from these.
