Abstract

Theater of animated formsmakes evident the relationship between theater and death. Archetypal and primal questions coexist with the avant-garde and interface with many artistic styles and languages. Edward Gordon Craig, by challenging to replace the (live) actor with the (non-live) Supermarionette, rescued puppetry, its expressiveness and technics, and provided a new perspective of the actor’s role.
