Abstract

Starting from the idea that the enormous stage activity of Buenos Aires filled somehow, and perhaps even fills gaps and needs, commitment and political participation of Argentine people, especially those of the middle class (the sector most closely linked to theater as a producer and consumer), the article covers the major milestones of dramatic and stage writing characterized by political perspective during the twentieth century and the early years of the new century.
