Abstract

Theessay focuses on the conceptualization of the spectator as a mask constructed by the director during the rehearsal process. On the one hand, we proceed to differentiate the spectator as a subject constructed by the director during the staging of the play, and how it differs from the audience. On the other hand, we appeal to the Freudian or clinic structures (neurosis, perversion and psychosis), as they were detailed by Lacan, in order to measure their productivity in the theatrical praxis.
