News On A Boethius' Translation

In the Isagoge Porphyrius cites as examples of his own difference, i.e., of inseparable accident, the blue of the eyes (glaukótes) and the aquiline of the nose (grupótes). Boethius has translated the first noun for caecitas oculorum (the blindness of the eyes) and the second for nasi curuitas (the curvature of the nose). Although in Greek it is not necessary, since it is understood, in Latin it is necessary to make it clear that the first noun refers to the color of the eyes and the second to the form of the nose. The problem is that Boethius has translated glaukótes into caecitas.
